Image
In our Mahasui culture , with house 🏠 ,there use to be one separate small double storied entity for storing the winter ration , like aata, Chawal , Daal and oil etc. Purely  home made / farm grown products use to be there , and still at some places in Rampur , Kotgarh and Kumarsain region some of the households are having this facility to store the ration. It is called Kothar in our kochi pahadi dialect. This picture is from Munish Bahali a village in tehsil Rampur, where Mansa Devi mata herself resides . No-one except the priest is allowed in the temple. Every devotee of Mata Rani do darshans of Mandir and one murti installed recently in premises and can be seen by all. Most of the temples in Rampur region are like satluj valley style . I visited this place on 11th Feb 2022.  May ...

Controlling Rabies by Using Onehealth approach

Image
3 days back , I got a chance to present my work on Rabies titling " Rabies post-exposure prophylaxis with IDRV and local wound infiltration with eRIG in rabid dog bite victims using one health approach " Here I am sharing the link for researchgate ,those who are interested may read.  https://www.researchgate.net/publication/358438475_Rabies_postexposure_prophylaxis_with_IDRV_and_local_wound_infiltration_of_eRIG_in_rabid_dog_bite_victims_using_one_health_approach In above picture IDRV vaccine is being given 0.2 ml in prescapular region in this dog . In this picture 0.2 ml IDRV is given to a cow , bitten by lab confirmed rabid dog in middle of the neck . Local wound infiltration with eRIG in Category-III bite wound Our conclusion is eRIG is life saving in animals as well as humans when given in local bite wound site even after confirmed rabid dog bite. IDRV is much more cost and dose sparing than IMRV as already proved in human studies and is...

Finding low cost treatment of dog rabies in India.

Dear all,    Today I am writing this blog in the middle of my research which is under process. WHO and OIE are trying to control dog mediated rabies from world by 2030. Which I think will never be possible without controlling rabies at the dog's level, as 99% of the rabies in India is spreading through dogs. So, we are in great need of mass vaccination of dogs. In many states of India including Himachal Pradesh we are facing shortage of Anti- rabies vaccination, and many poor farmers of our hilly regions are not able to afford even PrEP for their dogs.  Presently I am working on intradermal route of vaccine administration in dogs instead of using subcutaneous and intramuscular routes . For both PrEP and PEP we are trying to use IDRV and comparing it with IMRV. As a parallel study to human rabies , they are using IDRV since ages and are getting protective antibody titres against rabies after 0,3,7 of PEP protocol. But presently in India we are using 0,3,7,14,28 PEP regime ...
